What's my style?

It's hard for me to label my painting style to one art movement or emulate it like to a single artist because my style is made from ingredients of many things. Someone once called it Abstract Expressionism; another called it Cubism; and my mom thinks it's just really good stuff. Either way, I'm still learning about the art movements.

Most of my paintings were inspired by my family and personal experiences while growing up. The subjects or people in the paintings aren't always their actual representation, but sometimes they're altered to give them a general appearence so no one can have a direct claim to it. I don't dicuss my family or personal life with strangers, and my work reflects a common image of events or moments that could have been shared or experienced in any family or relationship. Several of my painting series also contain themes of everyday life in different settings and time periods.

What's important about painting, sculpture, or any of the fine arts is that it allows me to communicate with others in a way that doesn't always require talking. When I look at paintings, they're a great ice-breaker for people who are curious about what the artist was thinking. Sometimes, I'm not ready to know. With this, my artwork is expressive, impressive, Oceanic, Cubist, modern, contemporary, and whatever else you think.
